Kitesurf
Cartagena de Indias benefits from the constant presence of the trade winds, especially from December to April, which makes it the best season to practice this sport. The intensity of the wind is usually not very strong and the direction is in favour of beginners, which makes it an ideal spot to practice kitsurfing for the first time. On the islands of Baru you can also kitsurf, in this area the wind increases slightly in intensity and the landscape changes completely.
Rosario, Baru or Cholon Islands
Located on the Baru peninsula, one hour from Cartagena de Indias. Explore the stunning unspoilt beaches of Rosario and Baru, a group of 27 paradisiacal islands in the Caribbean Sea that belong to the National Natural Park of the Corales del Rosario and San Bernando Islands.
On the islands, you can swim and snorkel in the crystal clear waters, while relaxing on soft white sandy beaches and enjoying the picturesque natural scenery. You can get there by land via public bus or by boat. You can also get there by boat, taking an early morning boat from the Bodeguita pier.
